This is the second installment of the Christian actress' "Ainsley McGregor Mysteries" franchise.

Candace Cameron Bure is back on the case as a former-criminologist-turned-amateur-detective in Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Yarn Maker. Unlike the inaugural movie, which premiered last fall on Great America Family channel, this one will first release on Great American Pure Flix, hitting the streaming platform this Thursday, May 22nd.

Both outlets are part of Great American Media, a family-friendly and faith-based group founded in 2021 by Bill Abbott after he left his post as CEO of Hallmark Channel's parent company. Bure followed from Hallmark the next year to join him as the new company's Chief Creative Officer and on-air headliner.
Pure Flix, a subscription-based streamer, was brought into the fold in the summer of 2023, as Christian Film Blog reported at the time, and is getting first crack at running this new production, which will feature Bure's character taking up her latest case "When a famed yarn mogul doesn't make it to her event," as the synopsis puts it.
Bure, who plays the eponymous Texas-based sleuth, took to social media to promise viewers that they can count on plenty of action.
"Expect the stakes to be higher, romance to bloom and a clever ending you'd never expect."
It is not clear why Great American Media's leadership decided to roll this out on the Pure Flix platform as opposed to on Great American Family - the company's flagship cable TV network - but with plenty of cross pollination between the outlets, it will no doubt eventually make its way over to the channel as well. In the meantime, check out the trailer below to get a better of sense of what to expect.
