Christian College to Honor Kathie Lee Gifford
Updated: 6 days ago
The actress and former "Today" show host is being recognized for servant leadership.
Best-known for years of hosting Live with Regis and Kathie Lee and the fourth hour of NBC's Today show, Kathie Lee Gifford is also an actress, director, playwright, screenwriter, songwriter, and singer. Oh, and she's an author, too, with yet another book coming out at the end of this month. In a word, a woman of many talents, and through them all her Christian faith shines brightly.
So much so that Wisconsin Lutheran College has named her the winner of its 2022 Divine Servant Award. The Milwaukee-based school will present it at a ceremony next June, thereby adding Gifford to a list that includes past recipients like former president George W. Bush and Tim Tebow, the Heisman-Trophy winning quarterback from the University of Florida.
As Christian Film Blog has reported before - here, here and here - the 68-year-old Gifford is quite outspoken about her faith, and many of her projects - including that forthcoming book - focus on the cause of Christ. It is in part for that reason that she is being honored and the school's president, Dr. Daniel W. Johnson, says in a statement that his institution "couldn't be more privileged" than to present its award to Gifford.
As to her new book, The Jesus I Know goes on sale next Tuesday, November 30th, and features interviews she conducted about the Savior with celebrity friends of hers like actress Kristen Chenoweth, musicians Chynna Phillips Baldwin and Brian Welch, journalist Megyn Kelly and messianic rabbi Jason Sobel. You can find it at a host of retailers, all of which are listed on Gifford's website.
