The C-suite at Prime Video must be pleased with their decision to land The Chosen, because the series from Christian creator/director Dallas Jenkins is now their top offering in the United States. The show yesterday released the second of three installments of its fifth season and today found itself as the number one production on the American version of the streaming giant's platform.

So far, episodes one through five are available, with the final three episodes releasing this coming Sunday, June 29th. Lead actor Jonathan Roumie, who plays the Jesus character, and the rest of the team are meantime in Italy, where they have been shooting the Crucifixion scene for Season 6. That is tentatively scheduled to release in the second half of next year, as Christian Film Blog previously reported.

The current season will play exclusively on Prime Video until September, when it is scheduled to roll out on The Chosen app. At that point, it will be available globally and free of charge.
