It still managed to keep a spot in the weekend Top-20 despite a significant drop in ticket revenue.
Sound of Freedom brought in $762,000 according to Box Office Mojo, putting it in 17th place from Friday through Sunday, down two spots from last weekend when it earned more than $1.5 million. The drop is due to a sizeable reduction in the number of theaters playing the movie - 1,100 this weekend versus 1,602 last weekend - and the fact that it has now been in release for 62 days.
The faith-based thriller stars Jim Caviezel and Mira Sorvino and tells the true story of Tim Ballard, a former U.S. government official who quit his job in order to take up the fight against child sex trafficking.
The picture, which peaked at number two back in mid-July, has performed extremely well, earning an impressive $181 million at the domestic box office. As we reported here, it is now starting to roll out internationally, meaning there should be much more to come.
