The Christian actor and the rest of the cast and crew are currently shooting on location in Tennessee.

One of our favorite on-screen talents in the faith-based genre, Brett Varvel, is in production for his latest movie. In Slick, he plays a former convict who takes a handyman job at a small church. When his character falls back into his deceitful ways, bent on cheating that local body out of an oil deposit found under the property, the pastor "counters with unwavering grace, pointing him toward far greater treasures - and the One who gave everything to redeem him," as the film's synopsis puts it.
We know Brett personally, having worked with him in 2020 when he played a principal cast member in our first film, Miracle on Christmas. The 39-year-old Indiana native is a committed Christian, husband and father of four children. In addition to our picture, his on-screen credits include features American Underdog (2021) and Running the Bases (2022), as well as current series like Vindication and County Rescue, which is from the faith-based streaming service Great American Pure Flix.
The storyline for this new movie is based on Jesus' parable in Matthew 13:44, that compares the Kingdom of Heaven to a hidden treasure in a field. From Christian production company Hope Studios and Tennessee-based Southern Adventist University, it is filming right now in the Chattanooga area and will be through the end of this month.
The filmmakers plan to release the movie in theaters sometime in 2026. Christian Film Blog will keep you up to date on developments as we get them. In the meantime, check out Brett Varvel in the trailer below for Miracle on Christmas, which you can watch for free on Tubi or Amazon's Prime Video.
