The Christian musicians' summer concert tour documentary releases in theaters this weekend.
Any list of the leading stars on the Contemporary Christian music scene will feature Brandon Lake and Phil Wickham near the top. This past August, they paired their considerable talents, combining forces for the Summer Worship Nights tour, and if you missed it, not to worry: a documentary with all the highlights and plenty of behind-the-scenes footage is rolling out for a limited theatrical release.
The film, entitled For the One, follows them for "an intimate, unforgettable journey into the heart of worship and tour life," as the synopsis puts it, adding that moviegoers will "experience the fun, friendship, and community as Brandon and Phil point to the reason we do what we do: For the One who saved us.
It is not only for Christ, however, as Wickham mentions in a recent social media post promoting the documentary. They obviously hope it will impact all audience members, too, and one group in particular.
"It's also for the one who might be in the back of the room, who hasn't met Jesus yet, (or) the one who needs to recommit their life to Jesus. So, this documentary is full of worship for the One, but it's also full of the Gospel for the one who needs to hear that God so loved the world that He came and died."
For the One will play in theaters nationwide starting tomorrow, Sunday, October 27th through Tuesday, October 29th, with one final day on Saturday, November 2nd.
