Yuletide Plans Change for Great American Family & Candace Cameron Bure

The network's top star will still appear in two Christmas movies this year, but the second one gets replaced.

Candace Cameron Bure appears in a scene from her "Ainsely McGregor Mysteries" series.

A late switcheroo for Christian actress Candace Cameron Bure for this coming Christmas season. Instead of playing a wedding planner in Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells, she will portray a mergers and acquisitions lawyer in a different movie altogether.

Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison pose for a promotional photo for "Home Sweet Christmas."

Entitled Home Sweet Christmas, and focused on her character's inheritance of a large sugar maple forest, it is in production right now. The picture, set to air as part of Great American Family channel's 2024 Christmas programming slate, will also cast Bure's intended co-star from the Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells - Cameron Mathison - opposite her. There is no word on why the change took place, but that wedding picture will now not be filmed this year, according to a press release from the network.

Bure, a 48-year-old wife and mother of three adult children, is among the most outspoken Believers in Hollywood and has been both the leading star and Chief Content Officer at Great American Family since she moved over to the channel from the Hallmark networks in 2022.

Home Sweet Christmas will not be her only production to run this Yuletide season on Great American Family either: as we previously reported, she will also star in another one called A Christmas Less Traveled. Christian Film Blog will bring you air dates for both of them once that information is released.
