"Unplanned" Moves into 11th Week in Release

The pro-life Christian film is nearing the end of a long, successful theatrical run.

Unplanned brought in an estimated $1,650 at the box office over the weekend, according to data from The Numbers. That's obviously not much, but the film is now playing in just five theaters after peaking at 1,512 all the way back in early April.

From the writer director team of Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon, Unplanned is based on a memoir by the same name and tells the true story Abby Johnson, an abortion clinic director who became an outspoken right-to-life advocate. The movie has a strong Christian message of forgiveness and redemption and it has done well, bringing in more than $18.1 million on a production budget of $6 million.

This film benefits from a compelling story well told and good acting. Christian actress Ashley Bratcher turns in a particularly powerful perfomance, as Johnson, and her boss at the abortion outfit is played by another Christian actress - Robia Scott - who does an outstanding job playing the villain in the piece.
