This faith-based series about the life of Jesus lands a trophy from the Gospel Music Association.
The GMA Dove Awards are all about Christian music, and this year's event in Nashville, TN, was full of stars like CeCe Winans, Anne Wilson, Crowder, for King & Country and many more getting their due (check out the list of winners here). There is, however, one non-music category - Inspirational Film/Series of the Year - which explains our interest, and The Chosen claimed that trophy at the 53rd annual installment of the awards show.
Series creator/director Dallas Jenkins and co-executive producers Chris Juen and Chad Gunderson were in Nashville to collect the Dove Award on behalf of the program, which beat out other entries like American Underdog and The Jesus Music. In a social media post from Out of Order Studios, Juen and Gunderson's Texas-based production company, they shared their gratitude for the honor.
"Humbled by the GMA Dove Awards selecting The Chosen as the Inspirational Film/Series of the Year. Big shout out to our crew and cast who help bring the project to life, especially the families who sacrifice while we are away. All the praise goes to God, our ultimate Executive Producer."
On a related note, Season 3 of The Chosen is just around the corner: the first two episodes are set to release together in movie theaters on November 18th for a five-day limited engagement through Fathom Events. You can buy tickets to a theater in your area via this link to their website, and you can also check out the trailer below.
I believe a record number of people will be reached and it,s approved by GOD ALMIGHTY HIMSELF. I thank "The Chosen"
for the many hours of research they put in this even before the first scene. Also the cast are no doubt chosen by God through the production crew. God Bless
