Things are Coming Together for "The Chosen"

The first multi-season TV series about the life of Jesus hits some milestones.

The Chosen, from Christian director Dallas Jenkins, is getting closer to its air date. In a social media update to supporters, Jenkins announced that the first episode of season one just had a test screening and got, what he called, "some amazing feedback."

This series, which will run on the VidAngel streaming platform, is currently in post production - editing, color correction, audio correction, et cetera - and still has no release date. Jenkins has said previously the entire eight-episode first season will be ready around Thanksgiving and that the first four episodes may be available as early as Easter.

He did not, however, give any update on that issue in this latest announcement. What he did say is that the score for the program is something else. In fact, he stayed up until three o'clock in the morning listening to it.

"The music for this show, I promise you, is not like anything you've heard before in a Bible project. It's unique, it's fresh and I'm really excited about it."

The Chosen, which is now the all-time crowdfunding champion among media projects - nearly $14 million raised in two campaigns - will soon give us something to whet our appetites: the teaser trailer for season one. It will be released next Tuesday afternoon and you can watch it on the show's website and Facebook page.
