This faith-based film turns in a solid performance over the weekend despite a shrinking number of theaters showing it.

Now heading into its seventh week in release, The Girl Who Believes in Miracles is closing in on $3 million in total box office revenue after claiming 14th place this past weekend. According to preliminary data from The Numbers website, it brought in $141,000, putting it $3,000 ahead of the next movie down the list.

The film's theater count continues its inexorable slide, dropping to 608 from 728 the previous week, and is now well off its high of 1,012 on the weekend of April 16th. As is the case with every picture in theatrical release these days, coronavirus-related seating restrictions have had a deleterious effect on box office numbers.

This movie, which stars Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino, Christian actor Kevin Sorbo and Austyn Johnson in the lead role, should nonetheless cross the $3 million revenue threshold this week since it needs only about $40,000 to do so.
