In an effort to honor the life of Phil Robertson, filmmakers are bringing the 2023 hit film about him back to the big screen. This new iteration is called The Blind: A Phil Robertson Tribute, and in addition to the original movie, it will feature family members sharing about his "legacy and the call to live a life of faith, service, and second chances," as a press release puts it.

A devout Christian, Robertson died in May at the age of 79 after battling Alzheimer's disease. He had first shot to fame back in 2012 thanks to the reality television show Duck Dynasty, which profiled his family and the successful hunting business that he had built.

Long before that, however, he endured a long, difficult struggle with alcohol abuse, and it is that issue - as well as Robertson's triumph over it through his placing faith in Christ - that is at the heart of the movie. As Christian Film Blog reported at the time, the picture turned in a strong performance at the box office, generating more than $17 million in North American ticket sales.

This re-release will run for five days, playing in theaters August 31st through September 4th. You can purchase tickets to a venue near you via this link to the website of distributor Fathom Events, and the trailer below will give you a better sense of what to expect in the meantime.
