The film from Dallas Jenkins becomes one of a few faith-based films in recent years to cross the $40-million threshold.

Now playing in fewer than 350 theaters, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever earned just under $90,000 from Friday through Sunday, according to The Numbers website. Though a small figure, it comes after nearly two months in release and pushes the picture over the $40-million mark for total North American box office revenue, which is a major accomplishment.

In fact, it makes this Yuletide production only the third in the Christian genre to achieve the feat since 2020; Jesus Revolution and Sound of Freedom generated more than $51 million and $188 million, respectively, during their domestic theatrical runs back in 2023. So, this is a most impressive performance for director Dallas Jenkins - best-known as the creator of the hit series The Chosen - and his partners at Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate studio.
