That's a wrap!

Updated: Aug 30, 2018

Sony Pictures' Affirm Films announces that the Kendrick Brothers have finished principle photography on their next faith-based film.

Alex and Stephen Kendrick, the team behind Facing the Giants, Fireproof and War Room, among others, spent June and July in their home state of Georgia shooting their latest movie: Overcomer. The inspirational sports drama was produced by Stephen and directed by Alex.

The brothers, who are pastors at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, collaborated on the screenplay. The tale focuses on a successful high school basketball coach confronted with a setback on the job when the largest factory in a small town shuts down, prompting an exodus of the residents and forcing him to take over the cross country team. He meets the challenge through prayer and the inspiration of an unlikely athlete.

In order to facilitate a smooth operation while filming, the Kendrick brothers kept a low profile while out on location, helped in part by local participants who were tight-lipped about the time and place of shoots. According to Stephen Kendrick, they could not be happier with their choice of Columbus as a backdrop.

"We felt so welcome and truly appreciate the many business, schools and loving pastors and churches who came alongside us to support our efforts."

Overcomer is scheduled to hit theaters August 23, 2019. This link will give you a behind the scenes look at what you can expect.
