Billing itself as a modern fairy tale, First Lady stars Christian actors Nancy Stafford and Corbin Bernsen in a romcom where American presidential politics meets royalty. Stafford, of Matlock fame, plays First Lady Kathryn Morales, who's life is turned upside down when her husband dies in office. She ultimately agrees to help his bachelor vice president run for the presidency and, in an interesting turn of events, decides herself to "run" for First Lady.

Enter Bernsen, who plays King Max, a foreign royal and a man who knew the First Lady in their youth, when he was still a prince: sounds Hallmarkesque, doesn't it? His character comes calling, disguised as a bodyguard and determined to win the widow's heart.

Filmed in the Washington, DC area, this picture features several other Christian cast members, including Jenn Gotzen Chandler, Stacey Dash - who has a powerful testimony of personal courage and faith - and Alveda King, a prominent pro-life activist and the niece of Martin Luther King Jr. Though not billed as a faith-based movie, it sure looks like one we, as the Body of Christ, ought to be enthusiastically behind. And it might also make for a nice date night when it hits theaters on St. Valentine's Day.

Rated PG, First Lady is going to be a limited release, so you can check this link to find out if it's playing in your area. The trailer below will give you a feel for what to expect.
