Updated: Jul 16, 2020

The network will release 40 new productions for this year's Yuletide season and some of our favorite female leads are getting top billing.

The Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries are right now in the midst of what they call "Christmas in July," re-running Yuletide fare from years past. But they are also just 100 days away from the launch of their actual Christmas 2020 season and have announced a partial list of this year's offerings.

As was the case in 2019, they will air 40 new films - 23 on the Hallmark Channel and 17 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries - beginning on October 23rd. Christian actress Candace Cameron Bure, perhaps their biggest star and the self-billed "Queen of Christmas," will again play the lead in one of the new movies: If I Only Had Christmas.

Two other outspoken Believers will also get top billing in pictures this year, with Tamera Mowry-Housley starring in one called Christmas Carnival and Lacey Chabert in Christmas Waltz. There's good news as well for Brian Bird, one of our favorite Christian screenwriters and the executive producer of When Calls the Heart. That Hallmark series, which will soon go into production on season number eight, will join this year's Yuletide cavalcade with When Calls the Heart Christmas 2020.

There may be other Christian actors involved, but we will have to wait for the full list of new movies to be released in order to find out. In the meantime, you can see the partial list in its entirety via this link to Hallmark.
