The Christian actress and evangelist is hospitalized after having part of her lung removed.
Priscilla Shirer, who recently starred in the faith-based film Overcomer, remains in a Dallas area hospital today. Earlier this week, doctors performed surgery because of a nodule that the 45-year-old Shirer had described as showing "signs of dangerous irregularities." During the procedure, surgeons removed an entire lobe of her left lung.
Shirer and her family have yet to speak publicly since the operation, but according to Beth Moore, a Christian leader and close friend, things went smoothly. In a social media post, she indicated that the prognosis for Shirer is good.
"She did very, very well during the surgery. The surgeon said it went absolutely according to plan, that her body is strong and they have every anticipation that she'll heal up well."
Moore and fellow Christian speaker Christine Caine briefly visited with Shirer after the operation and say she is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days. Moore also requested prayers for Shirer. We at Christian Film Blog are, indeed, praying for her and would recommend you join us and pray for her family as well, because, in addition to this health situation, they are still grieving the death last month of her mother, Lois.
