The Christian film makes the top 80 at the weekend box office despite a tiny distribution footprint.

Play the Flute played in just one theater for the Friday through Sunday stanza, but still managed to bring in $1,750 and claim 79th place overall, according to Box Office Mojo. This Rich Christiano-written and directed picture has been out since January, though it shows only when booked by a private sponsor, meaning there are not many places running it at any one time.
As we mentioned in an earlier article, however, Christiano has been doing this for a long time and has already lined up bookings into August. If you'd like more information on when and where it will play, check out the film's website.
Play the Flute stars Brett Varvel as a youth pastor who is confronted by a group of indifferent teens at his new church. It has some strong supporting actors, including Hollywood vets Loretta Swit, Fred Grandy and Clint Howard.
