This is the first weekend that has happened since the animated feature debuted in April.

The King of Kings rang up $407,000 at North American theaters from Friday through Sunday, according to The Numbers website, putting it in 13th place overall at the box office, down from 10th a week earlier. Having released 38 days ago, its theater count is dropping significantly, with the picture now playing in just 721 venues versus 3,535 at its peak. Total domestic revenue tops $59.8 million, however, meaning it should break the $60-million threshold this week, a rare feat for a faith-based movie.

From Korean filmmaker Seong Ho Jang, it is based on the Charles Dickens book The Life of Our Lord and tells the story of the earthly ministry of Jesus. The director put together quite a cast to voice the animated characters, including Pierce Brosnan, Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, and Forest Whitaker.
