The Christian actor is lending his name and jewelry-design talents to that charity's cause.

Hallmark regular Kristoffer Polaha is one of our favorites not just because he is outspoken about his Christian faith, but also because he backs it up with action. Case in point: he is joining forces this Christmas season with World Vision to help those in poverty.

Polaha and his wife, Julianne, designed a set of three waxed string bracelets that are featured in the organization's latest catalogue. The items are hand-crafted by artisans in India and have proven to be quite the hit: they're already on back order after being announced only a couple of days ago.

In a social media post promoting the bracelets, the Run the Race star states that he "loves helping others" and thus is "so excited to partner with World Vision," which he says is among his "favorite non-profits." Proceeds from sales of the item will go to helping children and families around the world who are living in poverty.

The humanitarian group has come to the aid of more than 3.5 million people of all faith backgrounds in almost 100 countries since it was founded in 1950. And it is focused on more than just meeting physical needs, as its mission statement makes clear, saying the organization is "an international partnership of Christians whose mission is to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in working with the poor and oppressed," in an effort "to bear witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God."

The three-bracelet set costs $30 and can be found via this link to World Vision's website, though it is uncertain how long you will have to wait to receive them in light of their back-order status. There are lots of other choices on offer, however, in the outfit's catalogue and many of them may well make for good Christmas gifts in addition to helping bring comfort to those in need.

Ah, and one other holiday note related to Kristoffer Polaha: as we previously reported, he is starring in a Christmas movie on the Hallmark Channel this year. It's called A Dickens of a Holiday and it airs December 10th at 8:00 PM EDT/7:00 CDT.
