The Christian entertainer visits some of the most important sites from the earthly ministry of Jesus and is making it available free of charge.
Best known for her 11-year run on the fourth hour of the Today show with Hoda Kotb, Kathie Lee Gifford is a woman of many talents, as we have written on these very pages, including acting, screenwriting and directing. A devout Believer, she has also authored multiple best-selling books, including The Rock, The Road, and The Rabbi, which is a Biblically-focused travel guide that hopscotches through key Holy Land locations of Jesus' time on earth.
And it is that 2018 publication, written together with Messianic Jewish Rabbi Jason Sobel, that is the basis of this online Bible study. It features six video teaching sessions, each dedicated to a specific geographic area - Bethlehem, Nazareth, Capernaum, Galilee, the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem - that follow the chronological path of the life of Christ.
In addition to providing historical background and actually visiting the famous places, Gifford and Sobel dive into the Biblical passages that connect them to Jesus. The aim, as they state it in promotional material, is to give participants an opportunity to, "Experience Israel with new eyes to see the Scriptures come alive!"
This Bible study starts on April 20th and is being put on by FaithGateway, an online arm of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, and you will need to register here in order to take part. By so doing, you will receive free access to the six video lessons, a free seven-day devotional written by Gifford, and a free download of the first chapters of her aforementioned book. In the meantime, the clip below will give you a better feel for what to expect.
