International Music Giant Andrea Bocelli Teams Up with TBN for Christmas Special
Updated: Dec 19, 2018
The show takes place in the opera legend's hometown in Italy's Tuscan countryside.
Andrea Bocelli: The Heart of Christmas will air on the Trinity Broadcasting Network Thursday night, December 20th at 8:00 ET/7:00 CT. The Italian tenor performs Christmas classics, sings songs from his latest album Si and talks about his Christian faith.
The broadcast is hosted by TBN chairman and president, Matt Crouch, and his wife, Laurie. Bocelli tells The Christian Post he thoroughly enjoyed doing the program, particularly in a place that is so special to him.
"It’s been an absolute joy to welcome TBN viewers into the little church in my beloved birthplace, Lajatico — the exact spot where I discovered, as a child, the power of music as an instrument of prayer."
In addition to musical numbers from Bocelli and his family members, the show will feature a duet between the opera star and American Christian singer, Francesca Battistelli. A Grammy award winner and major star in her own right, she called the experience a "dream come true." Battistelli and Bocelli will perform the song "What Child is This."
