This fourth iteration of the faith-based franchise is coming to home entertainment after a successful run in theaters.
One of the most popular franchises in the Christian movie genre, the God's Not Dead property has generated nearly $100 million in world-wide box office revenue. The latest edition, God's Not Dead: We the People, came out in October as a special three-day engagement through Fathom Events and set a record for such short-term showings, bringing in $1.3 million...a mark subsequently topped by the coming Christmas special from The Chosen.
At any rate, this is a movie with lots of fans and they will soon be able to make it their own, because the digital version goes on sale next week and the DVD follows in early December. In addition to the movie itself, which stars Christian actors David A.R. White, Antonio Sabato Jr. and Grammy-winning Christian singer Francesca Battestelli, the home-entertainment version will also feature behind-the-scenes footage and the music video for "God is Good," which Battestelli performs on the movie's soundtrack.
In the film, White reprises his role as Reverend Dave from the previous God's Not Dead pictures and helps homeschooling Christian families fight back against government interference in their right to educate their children as they see fit. Isaiah Washington, William Forsythe and Jeanine Pirro round out the principal cast, which is a strong one.
The movie is being released into the home-entertainment market by Universal Pictures and you can find out where to purchase it via this link to the company's website. The digital version goes on sale November 23rd and the DVD becomes available December 7th; a DVD set of all four God's Not Dead movies will also be on offer that same day, and that just might make for the perfect Christmas gift for the faith-based cinema fan on your list.
