From the Catwalk to Faith-based Films

A former lingerie model came to the Lord, left the fashion industry and now has a part in a new Christian movie.

At just 17 years old, Nicole Weider had "made it" in the fashion industry, modeling for both Victoria's Secret and Maxim. But she realized all the focus on her looks was "harmful" and left her feeling "objectified."

In an interview this morning on Fox & Friends with Ainsley Earhardt - herself a devout Christian - Weider said modeling began to hurt her self-esteem. Of course, as Romans 8:28 makes clear, "...in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." And so it was with Nicole Weider.

"I was actually at a low point in my life, and my friend told me about Jesus. And so I wanted to give my life to Him, and then once I did, all of these amazing things happened."

First, she left the modeling business and ultimately set her sights on acting. She has now been in two movies, the latest of which just came out. It is a faith-based picture called Catching Faith 2 and it focuses on a family that sticks together through difficult challenges. Weider not only has an on-screen role, playing the part of a wedding planner, but also serves as executive producer.

From our point of view, she is refreshingly open about her budding film career, saying in a social media post that watching herself in the movie is a "surreal" experience. She added she couldn't believe she would be on Fox & Friends this morning to talk about it, and then went on to encourage others to follow her lead and trust in the Lord.

"With God’s help and with Him on your side - let me tell you that ANYTHING is possible. ⚡️ He can make a way when there seems to be no other way."

Well said, Nicole Weider. It's hard not to root for a Christian sister who is not only pointing to the Lord, but willing to let down her guard and do it in such an open and vulnerable way.

You can check out her entire Fox & Friends interview via this link, and we suggest you do. Catching Faith 2 will not have a theatrical release, but is now available at Walmart and Amazon. The trailer below will give you a feel for what to expect.
