The cable channel's Christmas lineup is out and Candace Cameron Bure leads the way.
Great American Family channel will release 16 new films this holiday season, a programming event it calls Great American Christmas. The network's top star - and outspoken Christian - Candace Cameron Bure will be one of many Believers in leading on-screen roles.
Things kickoff on October 19th and feature new movies rolling out every weekend through December 22nd, with older, previously aired movies playing all day throughout the week. Bure, who is also the channel's Chief Content Officer, will star in two of the new pictures. The first is called A Christmas Less Traveled, which we reported on here and airs on November 16th. The second is Home Sweet Christmas, set to run December 1st.
Plenty of other Christian actresses are on the schedule as well, including Danica McKellar in a dance picture called A Cinderella Christmas Ball on November 29th, Jen Lilley in A Little Women's Christmas November 23rd, and Jill Wagner starring in Sleigh Bells and Sugarplums on November 24th.
The channel will offer some faith-based fare as well, including the television premiere of the feature film I Heard the Bells, which played in theaters back in 2022. Great American Family President and CEO Bill Abbott - himself a committed Christian - calls Christmas a time for reflection "on what matters most."
"Great American differentiates its Christmas offering by remembering the nostalgia of the Christmas classics and why we love them. The timelessness of stories that affirm our faith, the love and joy of being present with family and all those we love, and the hope that the season transcends us all into our best selves."
