The Christian actress responds to criticism of a family photo she posted for New Year's.
When you've got 4.7 million followers on Instagram like Hallmark Channel star Candace Cameron Bure, every post you put up will generate plenty of attention. So that her New Year's greeting and picture from two days ago - which features her, husband Valeri and their three grown children - prompted lots of comments is no surprise.
What is something of a surprise is that there were enough wisecracks and sniping among the 18,000 responses - and counting - that Cameron Bure felt the need to address it by calling out the criticism of her children's unsmiling expressions, among other things. The 44-year-old actress was direct, but polite in her appeal to followers.
"Wow - I post a family photo and you all find everything you don't like about it or can make fun of. Do better than that. Please."
An infinitely reasonable request, but one we suspect will fall on lots and lots of deaf ears since there is so much negativity on social media. And Cameron Bure knows that as well as anyone, having been involved in another kerfuffle last September after posting a picture on Instagram of her husband playfully grasping her breast, which we wrote about here.
That issue of questionable propriety aside, Candace Cameron Bure is a rock-solid Christian sister working very successfully in an industry that has precious few of them willing to so vocally and consistently profess the Faith.
