Box Office Flame-Out for "God Bless the Broken Road"

Updated: Sep 24, 2018

A dropping theater count leads to plummeting ticket revenues.

One of two faith-based movies out now from director Harold Cronk - Unbroken: Path to Redemption is the other - this story about a wife and mother whose husband died in combat in Afghanistan brought in a paltry $87 thousand at the box office over the weekend. That does not come as much of a surprise, though, since it is now showing on just 224 screens, down from 1,201 last weekend.

The film has earned only $2.7 million since it debuted just over two weeks ago and has no chance to match, let alone exceed, its estimated production budget of more than $7 million.

According to Box Office Mojo, God Bless the Broken Road currently sits in 61st place among Christian films in all-time box office revenue. Despite its weak performance, it likely will cross into the top 60, needing only about $100 thousand more to do so.
