The biopic about WWII hero Louis Zamperini's journey to faith breaks into the all-time top 40 for box office revenue among Christian films.
This Harold Cronk-directed picture, starring Samuel Hunt and Merritt Patterson, has now brought in $5.87 million in just over three weeks. That is good for 40th place on the Box Office Mojo list in the Christian genre.
The movie may also match its $6 million production budget before the weekend is out. It remains, however, a long way from profitability since most films need to more than double the budget to be in the black. With the theater count starting to really work against it - now playing in just 335 movie theaters - there is zero chance of that happening.
This is a strong film, though, and Christian Film Blog recommends you take it while it's still playing on the big screen.
