The Kendrick Brothers' latest movie manages to claim a spot in the box office Top-20.
The Forge remained on the big screen in more than 300 domestic movie theaters from Friday through Sunday even as it became available to buy or rent in digital format. It would seem a good choice by distributor Affirm Films, because the picture brought in almost $210,000 at the box office, putting it in 20th place, according to The Numbers website.
From the Christian filmmaking duo of Stephen and Alex Kendrick, the movie focuses on discipleship, following an aimless young man - played by newcomer Aspen Kennedy - who is taken under the wing of a successful businessman - portrayed by Cameron Arnett - who guides him in the Faith and mentors him in responsible living.
After 52 days in release, The Forge has generated more $28.6 million in North-American ticket revenue and nearly $4 million more overseas, making its total box office haul $32.6 million thus far. You can still catch it in theaters, or, as mentioned above, procure it for home entertainment via this link to the website of Affirm Films' parent company, Sony Pictures.
