The fifth iteration of God's Not Dead delivered more than $1.4 million in its first weekend in release, according to figures from The Numbers website. That was good enough to put the picture in tenth place overall at the North American box office from Friday through Sunday.

God's Not Dead: In God We Trust, as this one is called, focuses on the issue of keeping faith in the public square. Lead actor David A.R. White - who is revisiting his Pastor Dave character from previous films in the franchise - decides to run for a seat in the United States Congress, and the movie encourages Christians to get off the sidelines this election year and cast their vote, as we previously reported.

The production has generated $1.8 million through four days in theaters, and that has prompted an extension of its a limited engagement run from the originally planned seven-day release up to 15 days now. You can purchase tickets to a theater in your area via this link to the website of distributor Fathom Events.
