The actress tells a college audience that the world needs to see their Christian character in their conduct.
Candace Cameron Bure was the guest of honor at a recent convocation at Liberty University, a Christian school in Lynchburg, VA. During the appearance, she challenged her audience not only to tell unbelievers about their faith, but to show them through their conduct.
"We can recite whatever Bible verses we want. We can say whatever we want, but if they don't see us walking the walk...then we're not representing Christ at his best."
An actress since childhood, Cameron Bure's first big break came at the age of 10 when she landed a starring role on the sitcom Full House. That was back in 1987 and she has had quite a career since. A long-time regular on the Hallmark Channel, she most recently starred in the the holiday movie A Shoe Addict's Christmas. A few years back, Cameron Bure helped launch a reboot of Full House called Fuller House that runs on Netflix. She says the streaming outfit is considering whether to renew the show for a fifth season and could announce a decision in the next week.
Cameron Bure long ago made a choice to act only in family friendly productions. Most, however, are not Christian fare and that is something she has at times gotten flak for from fellow believers. But the mother of three college-aged children unapologetically encouraged Liberty students to consider a similar in-the-world, not-of-the-world approach to their chosen vocations.
"If you are not out in every type of business out in the world, then who's going to be doing it? All the nonbelievers. We have to be in spaces that are not only in a Christian bubble. We have to get out there so we can be an influence to other people."
