As the successful theatrical run of episodes one and two of Season 3 winds to a close, The Chosen will finally roll out the first episode on its streaming platforms in one week. The hit series has done well at the box office, too: its haul currently stands at $14.4 million, according to Box Office Mojo, and it still has four days to go.

The show, created and directed by Christian filmmaker Dallas Jenkins and starring American actor Jonathan Roumie in the role of Jesus, has become a worldwide phenomenon, garnering more than 413 million views through just two seasons. Christian Film Blog will boldly predict that the eight episodes of Season 3 will easily carry that number over the half-a-billion mark.

So, here's the plan for releasing the aforementioned new episodes. The first one, which features Jesus' famous Sermon on the Mount, will roll out next Sunday, December 11th, at 7:00 PM ET (GMT -5 hours). Subsequent episodes will release one per week every Sunday at the same time, meaning episode two comes out December 18th at 7:00 PM ET, episode three releases on December 25th - Christmas Day - at 7:00 PM, et cetera.

The show will be free and available via the new app from The Chosen, which you can get at The App Store or Google Play. The episodes will also be accessible via the program's YouTube channel or its Facebook page, and each one will be released with an accompanying live stream featuring Jenkins.

One more thing worth mentioning: The Chosen has now partnered with a non-profit ministry called the Come and See Foundation, which will raise money to produce future seasons of the show. Since that outfit is a charity with 501 (c) (3) status, contributions made by American citizens and residents are tax deductible in the United States. You can get more information and make a donation via this link to the foundation's website. Oh, and do check out the Season 3 trailer below.

UPDATE - January 23, 2023: The final two episodes of Season 3 will play as one production in theaters on February 2nd and 3rd and you can purchase tickets to a venue in your area via this link to the website of Fathom Events; the production will play internationally as well - in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom - though we do not have any links for that, so if you live in those countries, you will need to check with local movie theaters.

If you are not able to go to the theater, you won't have to wait long, because streaming is not far behind: episode seven will debut on all the regular platforms February 5th, followed by episode eight on February 7th and, in keeping with past practice, they will be free of charge. The two episodes are still in post-production and the trailer has not yet been released, but Christian Film Blog will follow developments and bring that to you as soon as it comes out.
