After weeks of waiting, the moment has nearly arrived for Episode 6 of the second season of The Chosen. It premieres tomorrow - Wednesday - and as you can see in the trailer, focuses heavily on the backsliding of Mary Magdalene and the mission to rescue her that Jesus, played by Jonathan Roumie, has assigned to Peter and Matthew.

Having already screened this latest installment, Christian Film Blog feels confident viewers will enjoy the further development of the tense relationship between the two Apostles - portrayed by Shahar Isaac and Paras Patel, respectively - and the storyline involving Mary Magdalene, who is played by Texas-based actress Elizabeth Tabish. She, by the way, will join show creator/director Dallas Jenkins for the live event to discuss her role on the program.

Also slated to take part are Jase and Missy Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame. Jenkins was recently a guest on the Unashamed podcast that is hosted by Jase, his brother Al Robertson and their father Phil Robertson, and it turns out the Louisiana family loves The Chosen, as we reported here. Jase and his wife will no doubt expound upon that when they visit with Jenkins.

Since season two of The Chosen consists of eight episodes, there will be just two remaining after Episode 6 debuts tomorrow - Wednesday, June 23rd. The livestream premiere starts at 9:00 PM EDT (GMT -4) and you can watch for free on the show's website, YouTube channel, or app - Android / Apple.

UPDATE: During remarks after the early screening of Episode 6, Dallas Jenkins announced that production of season three will not begin this fall as originally planned. He said construction of sets and a sound stage in Texas are behind schedule and that he and his colleagues will not rush because they want "to get it right." Christian Film Blog will follow developments and update you once the schedule becomes clear. As to Episode 7 of this season, Jenkins plans to name the release date for that very soon.
