The Christian pro surfer takes to social media to make the happy announcement.
While these pages are normally reserved for articles about film and television professionals, we are making an exception in the case of Bethany Hamilton. And though she's a world-class pro athlete, her amazing life story has been the subject of two films, so it's not such a stretch: the popular 2011 faith-based feature Soul Surfer, starring Christian actress AnnaSophia Robb, and Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable, a visually stunning and emotionally inspiring 2018 documentary from filmmaker Aaron Lieber.
Now to the news: the 30-year old Hamilton and her husband Adam Dirks are expecting their third child together. She announced it today in a video on Instagram that is captioned: "Grateful for more family fun to come!!!" The video also features Dirks and their two sons: 5-year old Tobias and 2-year old Wesley. In addition to sitting on a surf board together in the water, Mother and children walk on a log that has the following written on it: "Tobias - Wesley and ?"
As a teenager, Hamilton survived a shark attack in her home state of Hawaii. She lost her left arm, but refused to give up the sport she loves and was back in the water within a month, ultimately going on to become the professional surfer that she is to this day.
