Stating that "There are never the right words to say when it comes to loss," Alexa and Carlos PenaVega announced the death of their fourth child yesterday in a social media post. They added that they are experiencing "grief that comes...in waves" at the passing of their baby girl, who was to be named Indy.

The couple, who met at a Bible study in 2013 and are outspoken Believers, are the parents of three other children: two boys, who are seven and four years of age, and a daughter, two. This pregnancy proved to be a challenge for Alexa, with the 35-year-old enduring bleeding in her third trimester and a suspected separation of the placenta.

She announced at the time, however, that her doctors still considered the pregnancy low risk, adding in this latest social media message that she experienced "a beautiful and peaceful delivery." While the couple justifiably "can't understand why things like this happen," and at times feels "absolutely gutted," they are drawing comfort from their Christian faith.

"It has been a painful journey. But in the pain we have found peace. God continues to comfort and hold us in His arms. The prayers from the community around us have been so sustaining in this difficult season. This little girl has already changed our lives in so many ways. She was absolutely beautiful."

Please join us in lifting up the PenaVega family before the Lord. Heavenly Father, please comfort our sister Alexa and our brother Carlos, as well as their three young children. Bless them with healing and help them to find the peace that surpasses all understanding as they draw closer to you and to each other at this time of their bereavement. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
