Sight somehow managed to land in 15th place at the box office over the weekend despite shedding 70% of its theaters from a week earlier. The picture brought more than $260,000 from Friday through Monday, according to data from The Numbers website, and no doubt would have done considerably better had it not been for that enormous loss of venues, which is a rare occurrence for a film like this so early in its theatrical release.

The picture - now playing in 634 venues versus 2,118 the previous weekend - tells the true story of Ming Wang, a Chinese national who was able to emigrate from the communist country and become a renowned cataract and LASIK eye surgeon in America. It stars Canadian actor Terry Chen in the lead role and features Greg Kinnear as a principal supporting cast member.
