After a successful two-week run of episodes one through three, the next installment of The Chosen is now playing in theaters across North America. Episodes four through six will also run for a limited release of just two weeks before the final installment of the show rolls out at the end of this month.

The season centers around Jesus - played by American actor Jonathan Roumie - as he journeys to Jerusalem for the start of Holy Week. The aforementioned episodes one through three brought in $13.9 million over their theatrical run, according to Box Office Mojo, which is a solid number. It is also, however, a number that is below that of its predecessor's: episodes one and two of Season 3 brought in almost $14.1 million in theaters over the same period of time back in 2022.

It will be interesting, for the sake of comparison, to see how the second and third installments of Season 4 fare, and Christian Film Blog will update you when the numbers come in. In the meantime, if you would like to watch these new productions at a theater in your area, you can purchase tickets via this link to the website of distributor Fathom Events.

There is also an opportunity for fans of the show to become extras in Season 5. Filming will take place at a date still to be determined at the first-century Jerusalem mockup set in Goshen, Utah, that has previously been featured in the show. The creator and director of The Chosen, Dallas Jenkins, stated in a social media post that he will need "thousands of people to show up over the course of two weeks" to take part in some "huge scenes from Holy Week." The extras selected will be required to make a donation, and you can find more details at this show-related website.
