Despite a relatively low number of theaters showing the picture, Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist claimed the ninth spot over all at the weekend box office, according to The Numbers website. It brought in $2.55 million from Friday through Sunday, which is a particularly good number in light of the fact that it is showing on just over 1,400 screens; as a point of reference, four of the top five finishers are playing on more than 3,400 each.

The fifth iteration of the Left Behind movie series, this version is set after the disappearance of millions in the rapture, and stars Christian actors Corbin Bernsen, Neal McDonough and Kevin Sorbo, who did double duty by also directing it. As with the previous films, it is based on the bestselling Left Behind books from Jerry Jenkins and the late Tim LaHaye.

If you haven't seen the movie yet, you've got three days left to do so, because it only plays through February 1st. You can purchase tickets to a theater in your area via this link to the website of distributor Fathom Events.
