The biopic about the great evangelist will hit the big screen April 6th.
Palau: The Movie tracks the life of Luis Palau from childhood poverty in his native Argentina through study at seminary in the US to his spreading the Gospel of Christ on a global scale. Written and directed by Kevin Knoblock, the film stars Argentine actor Gaston Pauls as Palau and Australian actress Alexandra Bard as his wife, Patricia.
Now 84 years old, Luis Palau has been battling cancer for over a year. In an update last night, his son announced that after several months of successful treatment, the tumor has unfortunately begun to grow again. He added that doctors plan to change their approach in an effort to combat it.
Palau nevertheless is in high spirits, according to the announcement, and remains active in ministry, even planning a speaking engagement at a church in Sacramento, CA this weekend. He is also coming out with a new book this year - Palau: A Life on Fire, from Zondervan publishing. That will be available in June.
