Evan Hofer and Tanner Stine in a scene from "Run the Race."

The film focuses on two brothers in high school who have lost their mother and been abandoned by their father. The boys, played by Evan Hofer and Tanner Stine, draw close and use their athletic talents in hopes of earning college scholarships to improve their lives.

So what about those two Heisman Trophies? One belongs to ex-Ohio State star Eddie George, who has an on-screen role in this picture, and the other to Tim Tebow, who won his when he was leading the University of Florida (featured in this movie) to college football national championships.

He and his brother, Robby Tebow, also a former college football player, are executive producers of the film. They are both outspoken Christians, too, and Tim says that's part of what drew them to Run the Race.

"I wanted to be part of something that’s encouraging and inspirational to the viewer. I believe Run The Race accomplishes this by showing two brothers struggling with real life, but them getting through it by supporting each other and their faith."

Shot in Birmingham, AL, Run the Race was directed by Chris Dowling (Where Hope Grows) and features veteran Hollywood actors Mykelti Williamson, Frances Fisher and Mario Van Peebles in supporting roles. It is scheduled to open in theaters on February 22nd.
