The pro-life Christian film pushes its way back into the Top-40 at the weekend box office.
Unplanned earned $34,000 from Friday through Sunday, according to The Numbers, which puts it in 36th place, up from 42nd the previous weekend. And it did that while playing in just 15 theaters, all of which are in Canada. The film wrapped up its American theatrical run last month and has so far brought in total revenue of nearly $19 million.
Written and directed by Cary Solomon and Chuch Konzelman, and based on a memoir by the same name, Unplanned tells the true story of Abby Johnson, a former abortion clinic director who became an outspoken right-to-life advocate. Christian actress Ashley Bratcher plays Johnson in this picture and delivers a powerful performance.
