With nearly five decades of ministry under his belt, Dr. Tony Evans knows the Word of God. And as pastor of Dallas megachurch Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship and author of more than 100 Christian books, he is also a seasoned teacher. He brings all that experience to bear in his latest endeavor, Journey with Jesus, a film that aims to make the ministry of Christ "come alive in fresh new ways" when it releases in theaters in November.

The documentary follows the Savior's travels, as the 71-year-old Evans and his two adult daughters visit prominent places from His life: Nazareth, the Jordan River and Jerusalem, among others. At one point in the film's trailer, Priscilla Shirer, who is both a renowned Bible teacher and a Christian actress, tells her father that she "can't believe where we're standing now" as they overlook the Sea of Galilee.

Pastor Evans also enters Jesus' empty tomb, tours the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and delivers a sermon during an outdoor service in Jerusalem. In his message, he encourages listeners to rely on Christ, who defeated sin and death.

"The power of Jesus helps you to overcome what looks like (it) is overcoming you...Praise Him in the midst of your problem. Praise Him in the midst of your challenge. Praise Him for His glory and then serve the Lord with gladness."

That clip from the sermon is a rousing one and the backdrops in the film, though familiar, add a powerful touch of cinematic beauty to Journey with Jesus. It is to be released in a special engagement from Fathom Events for three days only - November 15th, 16th and 17th - and you can find a theater in your area and purchase tickets via this link to that outfit's website. The trailer below gives a good sense of what to expect.
