Jesus' sending out of the disciples, as documented in Matthew chapter 10 among other places in the New Testament, is a touchstone moment, demonstrating on a limited scale what was to come after His resurrection and ascension: His followers would spread the Gospel and establish His church.

Episode four of The Chosen, which debuts this Sunday, will take viewers along with them as they go on their first mission. Entitled Clean, it is the part one of a two-part installment that will span the fourth and fifth episodes of the eight-episode third season.

According to a synopsis, "the disciples carry out the mission Jesus gave them -healing, casting out demons, and preaching His words." Alas, questions remain among them afterwards and "they struggle with understanding what happened."

The synagogue ruler Jairus (Mark 5:21 - 43) will also be introduced in this next episode and there is to be a ratcheting up of the tension between the Apostle Simon Peter and his wife.

In keeping with past tradition, episode four will release this Sunday (January 1st) at 7:00 PM ET (GMT -5) in a livestream hosted by show creator/director Dallas Jenkins; it will also feature an appearance by Alaa Safi, who plays the Apostle Simon the Zealot. You can watch it for free on the show's YouTube channel and via its app: Google Play / App Store. Until then, the teaser trailer below will give you a feel for what to expect.
