"Indivisible" Suffers a Big Drop in Weekend Box Office Revenue

A drastic reduction in the number of theaters showing it is to blame.

The David Evans-directed Christian movie brought in $165 thousand, according to Box Office Mojo. That's good for 28th place on their list of the weekend's top earners.

The film is in just its third weekend and has enjoyed some success thus far, topping its $2.3 million dollar production budget on day eight and now sitting at $3.37 million in total revenue. But the theater count plummeted by 70% over the weekend, leaving Indivisible on only 202 screens nationwide. That will make it very difficult to more than double the budget, which is what movies need to do just to break even.

The film, which stars Justin Bruening and Sarah Drew, tells the true story of US Army chaplain Darren Turner and his struggle to save his marriage after a difficult deployment to Iraq. It features a strong Christian message of forgiveness and redemption. Christian Film Blog rates it an 8.5 out of 10 and recommends you go see it.
