A Word of Thanks from Lauren Duggar

The reality TV star reaches out to her social media followers in response to their prayers after her miscarriage.

Josiah and Lauren Duggar of the TLC show "Counting On."

Lauren Duggar stars on TLC's Counting On with husband Josiah and several of his siblings and their spouses. As we wrote in this space last month, the Christian couple announced on the program that they suffered a family tragedy with the miscarriage of their first child.

They then received an outpouring of prayers and support from their fans; they have more than half a million on Instagram alone. Over the weekend, Lauren expressed her gratitude to them on that social media platform.

"I just want to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers, support, and for all you Mama’s out there for sharing your angel baby stories."

Lauren, who married Josiah last summer, had said earlier that they were unsure about whether to publicly discuss the miscarriage, but decided to do so because it might help the many others who faced the same issue.

In her post, which has been liked 44,000 times, she specifically acknowledges all those women who then shared with her about their own heartbreaking loss. She closed out her note of thanks with a scripture from the Book of Psalms.

"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

Counting On, which is a spin-off of 17 Kids and Counting, airs on Monday night at 9:00 ET/8:00 CT on TLC, and though the season finale was this week, it can still be accessed via streaming.
